Sam Lubis

Sam left Indonesia in the late 90’s to pursue an international career. After living for several years in Brunei Darussalam, he moved to the United Kingdom. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree (B.A. Hons) in Business Studies from South Wales University and worked in the retail industry in London for 4 years. In 2011, he relocated to The Netherlands. He has served as the President of Toastmasters of The Hague and was also the Area Director of Toastmasters International, The Netherlands.
Sam’s introduction to yoga came in 2005 while he was still living in Brunei. However, it was during his time in London in 2010 that he discovered Bikram Yoga, a practice that truly captivated him. Inspired by the transformative benefits of this yoga, he envisioned a future where he could share this practice with others. In the fall of 2018, he completed the official Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Acapulco, Mexico. Since graduating, Sam has been teaching yoga full time and has travelled the world sharing his knowledge. When he was not travelling, you would find Sam teaching and practicing yoga in his favourite yoga studio in The Netherlands, Alma Hot Yoga, Nijmegen.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sam created an online platform, Online Yoga With Sam. The intention was to help people practice yoga from the comfort of their homes during the lockdown, keeping them active even within the limited space of their yoga mat. He taught four to five classes weekly, attracting students from all over the world.
In 2020, Sam completed his Yin Yoga teacher training with Jose De Groet. He further expanded his qualifications with Yoga Sports Teacher/Coach training from the International Yoga Sport Federation in 2021, and in 2022, he undertook online Teacher Training for Inferno Hot Pilates.
Sam’s mission is to introduce and share the benefits of the yoga to as many people as he possibly can. He find joy in seeing others thrives and transform their lives. To help with this mission, in 2024, he founded Hot Yoga The Hague, with the studio opening it’s doors on the 7th September 2024.

Lidia Aprilia

Lidia is originally from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. She began practicing Bikram Yoga 15 years ago to address lower back pain and correct misalignment caused by poor posture. With dedication and regular practice, she soon noticed remarkable changes to her body as well as a profound sense of calm to her mind that extended beyond the mat. This practice has not only strengthened her physically, mentally, and spiritually, but has also opened her eyes to the deeper emotional and spiritual benefits of the yoga. She wanted to share the peace and gratitude she gained from her yoga practice with others. In 2014, Lidia completed her 500-hour Bikram Yoga training, followed by Inferno Hot Pilates training in 2016. She has taught in various locations, including Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and China, and is now inspiring students here in the Netherlands.
When she is not on her mat, she enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, trying out different sports, traveling, and expressing her creativity in home styling.

Cecilia Ardito

Cecilia Arditto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where her love for music first took root. In 2002, she relocated to the Netherlands, seeking new horizons and experiences. A classically trained composer, Cecilia devoted her life to music, but she also had a growing passion for yoga. In 2012, she became a certified Bikram yoga teacher. This new qualification allowed her to merge her love for music with her dedication to yoga, traveling around the world to perform concerts while sharing her yoga practice.
Cecilia views the combination of music and yoga as a deeply enriching experience. She found that both demands discipline, concentration, intensity, and passion—qualities that fuel her artistic and physical pursuits. Although she is interested in all styles of yoga for the wisdom they offer, it is hot yoga that captures her heart, captivated by its powerful effects on both body and mind.
Through her work, she continually seeks to inspire others with the transformative power of both music and yoga.

Jason Taylor

Jason is originally from the UK and has been living in The Hague since 2011. Whilst Jason had practised various styles of yoga on and off, it wasn’t until a shoulder injury in 2017 that he discovered the healing and restorative benefits of practising the Bikram sequence. Since 2017 Jason has been a regular Bikram practitioner as well as Yin Yoga since 2021. Jason found Yin yoga a great complement to the Bikram Sequence and wanted to learn more.
In December 2023 Jason completed his 200 Hours Online Yin Yoga Anatomy & Meridian Teacher Training with José de Groot of Yoga Treat. Jason has been teaching regularly and is looking forward to teach in the new studio and sharing the benefits of Yin Yoga. Jason likes to ensure the students understand and get the maximum benefits from the postures and strives to inspire his students to really dive deeper into the practice and of course, to gain that deep sense of relaxation!
In January 2025 Jason completed his Inferno Hot Pilates Teacher Training with Gabriella Walters and is excited to share the energy and encourage our students in this high intensity interval training – high energy, low impact and soooo much fun!

Kate Thérová

Kate is originally from Czechia and made the Netherlands her home in 2016. Her lifelong passion for yoga began in childhood, intertwined with her interest in holistic living. It wasn’t until 2019, during a difficult phase of her life, that yoga blossomed into a daily practice and became a transformative force for her well-being. She quickly fell in love with yoga, discovering its profound impact on both her physical health and mental clarity.
In June 2024, Kate achieved her 200-hour certification in Vinyasa Flow & Yin Yoga, motivated by her aspiration to share the healing effects and joy of yoga with others. Her mission is to guide people towards feeling better—physically, mentally, and emotionally—through the practice. With a master’s degree in Physical Education and Health Education earned in 2015, Kate combines her educational background with her yoga practice.
Kate describes herself as playful, curious, and adventurous — like a “cheeky little monkey!” – “I am passionate about yoga, particularly yin, as it serves as a beautiful tool for healing and restoration, providing a much-needed opportunity to pause and embrace stillness in our fast-paced lives.”
When Kate isn’t teaching or practicing yoga, you may find her enjoying the refreshing cold waters of the North Sea or performing with fire poi and fire fans, embracing the thrill of the moment.

Afri Asencio

Afri Asencio is a passionate and highly experienced traveling yoga teacher from Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain. She discovered Hot Yoga in Sydney in 2007 and fell in love with it from her very first class. The following year, she pursued her Teacher Training in Acapulco.
In 2009, a serious accident left her with a broken leg, requiring three surgeries due to medical negligence. Most of her rehabilitation took place in the yoga room, and her therapists were amazed by the fast improvement in her range of movement, joint flexibility, and muscle gain.
Since then, Afri has traveled the world, teaching Bikram Hot Yoga and Hot Inferno Pilates in studios across Bali, France, Italy, Sweden, Vienna, Las Vegas, Thailand, Sydney, Nairobi, and New Zealand. In 2019, she completed her Hot Inferno Pilates training in Bali, infusing her classes with energy and fun. She is also trained and teaches Yin Yoga.
For Afri, being part of a vibrant yoga community and witnessing the transformation in her students’ lives provide her with immense motivation. She ends every class with a warm invitation, saying, “See you in the hot room.”

Kati Saira

Kati began her Bikram Yoga journey a decade ago in Helsinki, Finland. In the fall of 2017, she undertook and completed a rigorous 9-week Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Acapulco, Mexico. Throughout her practice, she has taken both a 30-day challenge and a 60-day challenge, with aspirations to take on a 365-day challenge in the future.
Teaching Bikram Yoga has proven to be the most challenging, demanding, lonely, joyful, truthful, and transformational experience of her life. She resonates deeply with Bishnu Ghosh’s words:
“It is never too late to begin to practice this yoga system, for it helps to rebuild the body, reenergize the mind, revive lost youth, beauty and strength, make youth last longer and repair the damage silently done by wrong methods of living and by disobedience of natures simple laws – body and mind are so closely related that If one is healthy the other must also be so”.

Jib Sans

Hi there! I’m Jib, your friendly neighborhood Bikram yoga instructor with a twist—I’ve got a PhD in molecular pharmacology, so I know a thing or two about how the body works. But don’t worry, I promise my classes are science jargon-free (unless you’re really curious!).
I’ve been practicing Bikram yoga for about 15 years and teaching it for more than a decade. What started as a way to unwind from a busy career in medical services turned into a full-blown passion for the 26 postures and two breathing exercises that make up Bikram yoga. Now, I’m all about sharing the heat and the healing with others—whether you’re here to sweat, stretch, or find some serious mental clarity.
My teaching style? Picture a mix of discipline, encouragement, and a good dose of humor. Bikram yoga is intense, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun along the way. I believe it’s important to create a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome, whether it’s your first class or your hundredth.
